Organizing For Change
Communities face a multitude of issues that take community involvment and action to address. From organizing commuities for change, addressing poverty, giving voice to those who do not have one and health issues such such as drug use, healthy decision making and phyiscal health.
Communities are unique in thier ability to:
1. Identify the problems;
2. Focus on conditions that enable the problem and
3. Mobilize to take action.
The information a community organizing intiative puts into the communtiy relies on having credible sources. Being able to communicate with key constituencies furthers the organizing agenda and allows for the efforts to be more coordinated. When we organize we must be intent on taking action and clear on the action to be taken.
